Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query under its own rules. We do not retain those search terms in a court-record database.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page sends limited technical information to the systems that deliver the resource, including:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Along with analytics services, they help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Routing search requests to the selected outside provider
- Measuring which resources are useful and which require improvement
- Keeping pages available and responsive
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Hinsdale County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It publishes routing information for the Hinsdale Combined Court, Lake City Municipal Court, and Colorado Judicial Branch systems. Judicial case-file access is governed by Chief Justice Directive 05-01, while the Colorado Open Records Act governs public records generally. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy terms govern submitted queries, retention, and disclosure, not this policy. Review the provider's practices before entering a name, case number, or other data.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to court and clerk pages, state search systems, legal resources, and outside tools. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's policy applies. Review it before sharing personal information.
An advertising provider may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet service is completely secure, so protection efforts cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Notice of such data will prompt a deletion review.
Your Data Rights
Depending on residence and the facts, applicable Colorado privacy and consumer-protection law may provide additional rights concerning personal data. Requests may include:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as services or legal duties change. A replacement will appear here with its new effective date.
